Welcome to Sri Balaji Society
|
India is going through an Industrial Revolution. Lot of companies are coming from abroad and even the Indian Companies are
going abroad. So, we all are witnessing globalization and in this environment, the Post Graduate in Management are the
most sought after human resources in the country. Not withstanding the upheavals in the global markets, India is still poised
to keep her growing phase as can be seen in the economic growth rate compared to other countries in the World. That does
not mean, any and every Post Graduate in Management will find his dream companies and dream jobs. Right person to the
right job with right attitude is the demand of the industry. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the B - Schools to select the
right candidates for the right training and course, so that at the end of the day, the students do not get disappointed. |
| |
Admission Process for The Institutions of Sri Balaji Society |
We, in Sri Balaji Society leave no stone unturned to ensure that, every student joining any of our Institute is groomed well and
placed well. Although, we are having very tough training schedule, the spirit behind it is to give maximum to the students,
so that, the objective of their joining us paying fees is realized. The institutions for which we will be conducting the selection
process for admission are as under:- |
(a) Balaji Institute of Management & HRD (BIMHRD)
(b) Balaji Institute of Telecom & Management (BITM)
(c) Balaji Institute of International Business (BIIB)
(d) Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM)
(e) MA Programme in Mass Communication offered by Balaji College of Arts, Commerce & Science
(BCACS)
(f) Mass Media Programme offered by CMS Institute of Communication and Convergence, New Delhi. |
|
All the four Management Institutes of Sri Balaji Society are well known in the country for the excellent grooming process and
Campus Placements. The founder of Sri Balaji Society is paying equal attention to each of the Management Institutes and
ensures that the leaders in the society as well as in the institutes work together to deliver the results. Each Director either
they may be from the Society or from the Institutes work like a family and are interdependent. This collective effort and the
concept of unity in diversity is ensuring that common culture, common rules, common procedures, common grooming
process and common examinations produce good results although every Institute is fully equipped to innovate and produce good results. Therefore, taking admission to any of the Institutes imply that you have taken the right decision. |
|
| Common Prospectus and Application Form |
Until the last year, we used to prepare separate prospectus and applications. This used to cause additional expenditure to
the parents and students. Since Sri Balaji Society is one family, we have decided that we shall go for one prospectus and
one application form where, all the courses of all the Institutes of Sri Balaji Society are listed and through which any
student can apply to any or all the courses of any or all the Institutes of Sri Balaji Society. The application form has
appropriate columns and the students should carefully fill up the same, so that, a student can get maximum opportunity to
get admitted to any of the course of Sri Balaji Society. Please note that, all the courses of Sri Balaji Society are approved by
AICTE. The MA programme mentioned above is approved by Government of Maharashtra and affiliated to University of
Pune. The Post Graduate programme offered by CMS Institute of Communications and Convergence, New Delhi is
autonomous programme offered by them. They are collaborating with us technically and we are drawing their expertise
for ourMAin Mass Communication Programme. |

|
| Selection procedure |
|
| |
|
|
We are proud to state that we accept CAT scores. BIMM and BIIB are already affiliated for this purpose. BITM and
BIMHRD are not yet affiliated to CAT due to delays on our part and the same will be done for the next admissions.
However, as CAT scores are issued to the students by the IIMs, any student who has appeared for the CAT examinations can apply for our courses with the CAT scores. Thus, all the four Management institutes will accept CAT scores. Incase,
any student has not applied for CAT, we will accept MAT scores. However, the MAT scores will be equated and validated
to the CAT score value and that will only be counted for the purpose of merit list. Anyone having any objection to the
same, need not to apply.
|
|
| |
We are not having any cut off points as we give weightage to all the above parameters in the selection process. The exact
weightage to be given for the entrance examination will be decided based on a decision to be taken by the High Power
Committee. Thus, any one with good percentile / percentage can apply for the selection process. However, Sri Balaji
Society reserves the right to prescribe any qualitative requirement as may be required if and when considered necessary. |
| |
Aspirants for admissions should appear in the CAT to be held on 16 November, 2008, as we use the CAT score for short listing the candidates. IIMs have no role either in the selection process or in the conduct of the programme. Consequently, the Balaji Admission Test (BAT) and Spot Registration will not be held. |
| |
|
Essay Writing |
|
Written Communication Skill is very important for any one to succeed in the industry as Business Communication form an
essential part of the managerial functions. Therefore, the applicants will be required to appear for an essay writing
exercise on a subject, which will be given on the spot. This will be for half an hour. The topics will be general in nature and
any one who follows the National Newspapers can easily appear in the same and score good marks. |
| |
| While we are keen to have the admission process in all the centres mentioned above and have been having many of the centres
for many years in the past, we reserve the right to cancel any of the centres depending upon the contingencies. However, it
may be noted that, the hall ticket issued by us to any centre is valid to all the centres and the students who may need a change
of centre due to any reason can automatically go to any other centre by just informing us through an e-mail and with out
expecting any response to the same. |
| |
|
HALL TICKET Issued by the Institute
|
Admit Card issued to any centre is valid for all the centres and candidates can appear before the selection committee in any centre provided they have informed about their intention to appear before a selection centre other than the one mentioned in the admit card well in advance. No separate communication for change of centre will be communicated by us.
|
| |
Submission Of CAT Result/Score |
The CAT result may be declared by Jan 2009 ,whereas ,the last date for submission of applications to Sri Balaji Society is 18th
Dec 2008. That means, the students can submit the application forms without the CAT scores. They can submit the same as
when the results are declared,as we will declare the merit list much later. It may be noted that we are not going to do our short
listing based on the CAT score alone, although weightage is alloted for the same. |
| |
|
MERIT LIST |
|
On completion of interviews, we compare the performance of all candidates appearing for the interview and generate a final
merit list based on their overall performance. Weightage is given to written test, marks obtained in the essay writing, GD and PI.
The candidate is considered for the course which he has preferred according to the priority mentioned by him / her in the
application form. Incase, he / she is not selected to the course applied by him / her, then he / she will be considered for other
courses and selected on merit. It may be noted that, all the Management courses are of the same status and the inputs are also
similar. As we have already mentioned the placement opportunities for all the courses are very good as has been proved by the
track record of Sri Balaji Society.
|
|
It means that each institution is important and enjoys equal status and attention from the top management. We select the best
possible candidates for all the Institutes from amongst the common pool of all the candidates applied for admission to any or all
the institutes of Sri Balaji Society; although such a consideration arises only when a candidate is not selected for admission to
the particular institute to which he or she may have applied originally. By doing so, we are in no way taking away any
opportunity from anyone but are providing an additional opportunity to get selected in any of the prestigious institutes of Sri
Balaji Society. |
| |
This is done subject to the following conditions: - |
(a) That they are eligible for the same. To become eligible, they should have opted for the institute(s) / course(s) (one can opt
for
either one institute / course (s) or for all the institutes / all the courses as per his / her choice in the application form) for us
t o
consider them.
(b) That vacancy exists in those Institute(s) for such a consideration.
(c) That they come up in the merit of scope of those institutes / courses. |
