| The Leadership Award |
Sri Balaji Society believes in the Universally cherished values of 'Loyalty, Integrity and Hard-work'. Everything in the organization is aimed at common benefit of each and every student. However, in every system, some bad elements may exist and they may cause a hole in the ship to achieve selfish and ulterior motives. Therefore, it is the duty and responsibility of each student to report to the management about any such malpractice or anti-social or anti-national activities which may come to their notice. It should not be assumed that the management may be aware of such activities. At times, even the employees may be involved in such crimes. |

| Internship for PM & HRD Students |
Every PM & HRD Student of BIMHRD has to undergo an internship in companies in Pune only for a duration of one month, daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. under their own traveling arrangements. This is known as 'Field Study'. Students will have to submit a detailed Field Study Report to the Institute as well as to the company concerned. |
These students are also required to visit few industries in neighboring states such as Karnataka and Goa under their own expenditure. However, the visit for all the students of the class will be organized in one group by the Institute. |
| Company Project Studies (CPS) |
Each student of BIMHRD is required to undergo a highly practical oriented Company Project Studies (CPS) for a duration of two months. The Project in question shall be directly relevant to the needs of the company. This can be undertaken in any part of the country. The companies have a system of giving Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) to those students who excel in completing projects which are of utility value to the company. The entire Market Research techniques and methodologies taught in the class are supposed to be applied for the project studies. The Companies also forward an 'Evaluation Report' about the performance of the students to the Institute directly. The project will be evaluated for 100 marks out of which 50 marks will go for viva. |
| |
| The CPS will be undertaken as under :- |
| (a) Marketing and Systems : 1st May to 30th June |
| (b) Finance, PM & HRD and Operations : 1st September to 30th October |
| Appreciation / Complaints from Companies |
The students will be required to interact with the managers during various workshops/ seminars/ training activities. They are also required to work in the Industry for the Internship/Projects as mentioned in the foregoing paragraphs. It should be noted that the students are the 'Brand Ambassadors' of the Institute. They are the opinion makers in their companies. While the appreciation from the company will promote the Institute and thereby the cause of the students; the negative reports from them will work against the interest of the student community at large. |
Therefore, any complaint received from the companies or the Guest Faculties will attract severe disciplinary action against the students. One such action could be that the concerned student will be placed in the 'Red List'. It implies that he / she will not be allowed to sit for the Campus Placements. |

Year after year an increasing number of companies visit our campus to absorb our students. This is the affirmation of the faith of the corporate world in the ability and quality of our students and faculty. |
BIMHRD has excellent placement record for management students. MNC's and Indian companies from IT, ITES, Consultancy, FMCG, Banking and Finance, Service sector, Manufacturing, Media etc visit our campus to recruit our students. |
We have a almost common placement for all the four institutes of Sri Balaji society. This not only provides a varied range of students to the company but also facilitates a healthy competition between the students of the Society.

| LIBRARY |
| We have a well-equipped Library for our students. They are allowed to draw eight books at a time for a period of 15 days. The Library subscribes to all the leading newspapers, periodicals and international magazines. Students, faculty members and scholars are encouraged to recommend as many books of international standards as required by them. |
In case the books are not returned to the Library by due date, a fine is charged as per instructions of the institute. A refundable Library deposit of Rs.3000/- is required to be paid by each student at the time of admission. |
| HOSTEL FACILITIES |
The hostel, as of now, has the capacity to accommodate 350 female students and 350 male students. The rent for hostel accommodation, which is fully furnished, will be Rs. 3,000/- (Rupees Three thousand only) per month. |
The hostel is a landmark in Pune and located in Tathawade on the Mumbai - Bangalore bypass. It provides all the facilities including a mess, a Gymnasium, a Coffee Shop and a Shopping Centre with the campus. |
Sri Balaji Society hostels can accommodate a maximum of 350 girl students and 350 boys only. Therefore, till one more hostel is constructed, for which action is in hand, the hostel accommodation is provided for the duration of June to April only to even those 700 students. At present about 1200 students (both boys and girls) are day scholars. The present inmates of the hostel will be vacating hostel by 30th April 2007 i.e. before they go for their summer projects. |
| MESS FACILITIES |
Mess facilities will also be provided at a cost of approximately Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) per month. The exact mess fee and menu thereof will be negotiated by the student body once they reach our location and once they are selected by the students. It is not compulsory as restaurants are also there in the campus. So it is left to the discretion of the students. The cost of mess facilities can also be covered from the bank loan, although it is not required to be remitted to us. |
| Upkeep Of Health |
Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and to maintain the same BIIB provides various facilities : |
Yoga : It is a way of life and art of righteous living or an integrated system for overall development, hence it becomes essential for a future manager to have a sound body, mind and inner spirit. |
Gymnasium : As rightly said, 'The resistance that you fight physically in the Gym and the resistance that you fight in life can only build a strong character'. |
| Sports : The Sports committee encourages the students to get athletic and invites the non-athletic crowd to join in the fun. It is the responsibility of this committee to ensure the well-being of the participants and encourage sports through a competitive spirit in the campus. |
| Ordinarily, in today's hectic schedule, it is quite possible that amidst so much that's happening around you makes you stressed out. The best way to revitalize ourselves is to spend some time with 'mother nature' for which we have a walking track within the campus. |
| PERIODIC REPORTS TO PARENTS |
The Institute will furnish a Performance Report on each student to all the parents periodically. A monthly attendance report on each student will also be forwarded by the Director. We insist on regular attendance of students in classes, workshops, seminars and other co-curricular activities. Get-togethers and cultural programmes will be organized by the Student's Council, but will be subject to disciplinary rules. |
| HOLIDAYS AND VACATION |
The students are unlikely to have holidays during the first six months as this will be a conversion period. Classes will also be held on Sundays. There will be no vacation period during or after any semester. We will utilize all the days of the year to sharpen and enhance the competitive skills of the students so that money spent by the parents leads to building a productive career. |
| Suggestion box - "we value your input" |
There is no end of learning and the scope of improvement is thus present in each and every system. To achieve towards perfection, we at BIIB invite all new, innovative and creative comments, ideas, thoughts, suggestions and feedback. |
Gathering student comments with a suggestion box can also be fruitful, especially in corporate culture. |
| ATTENDANCE |
Attending classes and learning in the class through the learned faculties is a critical step towards growth and development of students, as the skills required by the Industry are taught and to be learned in a systematic and progressive manner in the class rooms. Consistency in attendance is, therefore, a pre-requisite. Absence from class leads to discontinuity in learning and defeats the very approach of progressive learning, as the subjects are inter-connected and missing one session may lead to confusion when the next session is being conducted. |
Consequently, it is not only difficult but may also put those students under tremendous pressure and in a helpless situation leading to stress, frustration and depression. This is particularly so because while a student studies about six subject per year in their graduation course they have to study more than ten subjects for semester in our Institute. We have come across quite a few cases of such students becoming psychiatric cases because of the pressure on them. Therefore, attending classes regularly is a requirement of any student who joins a good management institution. Similarly, studying at home/hostel everyday regularly will lead to expected growth and development of students. |
We plan to hold our training / classes for 365 days in an year. We do not believe in the concept of the holidays. Each and every class is critical for learning in a continuous manner. Therefore, no request on the account of medical grounds for exemption from attendance will be accepted. Parents are advised to please understand the medical problems of the children who have a medical history and not to encourage them to take up our stressful management programmes which are very hectic in nature and are held for prolonged hours throughout the year because such students undergo lot of peer pressure and tension leading to possible depression. They are also unable to focus on studies and are in a fix of not being in a position to express their difficulties either to the parents or to the management, as the requirement of the learning process is stringent in nature and cannot be changed. |
A minimum of 80% attendance is compulsory. Those who maintain 95% of attendance will be awarded an attendance incentive of 5 marks per subject. Those who fail to give 80% of attendance will be placed in 'Red List' and may not be allowed to appear in the examination. |
However, this should not disturb the minds as the permissible limit of absence is 20% in each semester and if one calculates the total days on which one can legitimately be absent from the classes on account of sickness or other important contingencies will be more than 20 days in a year provided they attend classes regularly. To be away from the class for casual reasons or carelessness and then to remain absent on account of medical ground or other contingencies cannot be justified because in a professional course training will have to be undergone. It is not a matter of writing examination, it is more and that of conditioning the mind, body and system. |
| Discipline |
Students are trained for bright future corporate careers through various scientific grooming processes which also involves healthy lifestyles. The word 'Discipline' for us imply adherence to civilised life following the code of conduct. Therefore, strict discipline will be an essential part of the training process and the defaulters will be dealt with appropriately. For example: - |
| (a) |
Mishaps involving students driving two-wheelers have reported in the past in our Society just like in other parts of the country. It could have perhaps been avoided, had those students were wearing good crash helmets. Therefore, wearing of crash helmets by the students riding two-wheelers and by pillion riders is compulsory. Students violating this rule will be fined with Rs 1000/- in the first instance and more stringent punishment will be taken on subsequent incidents. The fine thus collected will go to 'Students Party Fund' . |
| (b) |
Carrying of mobile phone to classes is strictly prohibited. Incase a student carry the mobile to the class a sum of Rs. 1000/- will be fined. Besides that, the mobiles found inside the academic block will be confiscated and kept in the permanent custody of the Director. Even the sim card will not be given. They will, however, returned to the students on completion of the course. Parents are advised to call their children at night after the class hours but before 10 pm. No mobiles will be used in the hostel after 10 pm. |
| (c) |
Silent hours will be maintained in the hostel after 10.00 pm. Mobiles should be switched off after that. This is also to ensure that the other room-mates in the hostel are not put to inconvenience. Cluster Friends and Friends of the Floor will ensure the same and report about those who violate the rule. |
| (d) |
All the students are expected to be in their room by 10:00 pm. Late night parties or loitering around at odd hours, on any account both inside the Campus and even outside is not allowed. Similarly boys and girls moving into each others' hostel or private accomodation will attract rustication from the institute. In this connection, it should be mentioned that students living in private accomodation adjacent to the campus should note that our culture and traditions do not permit boys and girls meeting at odd hours, even for the purpose of group / combine studies / preparation for group presentations / assignments is not permissible. Therefore, if any complaint is received from the society, the deliquent students will be severely punished. |
| (e) |
Students are expected to behave well like gentlemen and gentle ladies not only in the classrooms, but also through out their stay with us, even when they are in their private rooms. We demand decent life style including maintenance and up-keep of the rooms. |
| (f) |
Students are expected to be dressed smartly and to follow the dress code meant for various occasions. Students are also expected to carry at least one pair of their traditional dress. Traditional dress means those dresses, which one generally wears according to his / her region, religion, customs and traditions, on festive occasions. |
| (g) |
Students are not allowed to go and stay out of the hostel. If any student has to be away from his / her room after 10 p.m. or want to go out of station for any personal reason, he / she should take written permission from the Director. Permission for that is a must and that will be granted subject to parents' request to the Director which should be done through a fax followed by a call atleast 3 days in advance. The Director, in turn, will properly verify the request and may or may not recommend the 'Night out Pass' to the Rector of the Hostels. However, Night-outs will be restricted to the bare minimum, say once in three months. Nomination of the local guardian, if any, should be made by parents through a letter to be addressed to the Director at the time of admission. |
| (h) |
Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited. Anyone indulging in ragging will be dealt with 'Zero Tolerance' and will be expelled as this has been prescribed as a minimum punishment by the Supreme Court of India. The Supreme Court has also categorically mentioned that harassing fresher physically and mentally will be booked by the Police, expelled from the college and also denied future admission. Therefore, no one should allow others to rag them. If any one tries to rag any student the same should be reported immediately to the Director. |
| |
| Classrooms |
We have fan-shaped class rooms and a ceiling mounted LCD's. Each classroom has a capacity to accommodate more than 60 students. In addition BIIB has a well equipt seminar/ conference hall for various programmes and interactions organized in the campus. |
| Computer Lab |
Computer lab is well-equipped with branded PC's adequately supported by 8 Mbps leased lines for internet connectivity. It is also equipped with a wide range of licensed system software and applications software. The entire campus is connected with Wi-Fi network. Computer labs with workstations connected to the internet are available for the use of the students. Instructors are also regularly available to assist students in planning and implementing their projects. |
| CLASS CO-ORDINATION AND CLASS DISCIPLINE |
Class discipline will be maintained strictly. Each class will have two students who will be selected as class representatives and another two who will be a part of the Institute's Discipline Committee. They will report to the Professor-in-Charge on a day-to-day basis and where necessary directly to the Director. Students who have any problem or grievance can also directly approach the Professor-in-Charge/ Director/ Students' Council/ Grievances Committee. All the issues related to academics in the institute may be referred to the Director, Director (Academics) or Dean and issues related to examinations will be referred to the Director (Examination). Students can meet the Director / Directors of Society and the President of Sri Balaji Society on any issue with prior appointment. |
| Seminars and Workshops |
The seemingly boundless energy of the students is not just channelized into the demanding activities of the academic curriculum; they find the time and energy to participate in the varied activities depending on their interests. |
Debates, seminars, Book reviews and quizzes go on round the year, honing the communication skills and enhancing the knowledge of future managers. Work shops are organized which facilitate the growth of the students to take on the challenges of the corporate world. |
BIIB also plays host to various cultural Endeavour like "Induction ceremony", "Fresher Party" , "Drishti" an inter institute competition of "Sri Balaji Society" and many more. These festivals bring out talents and a broad spectrum of divergent experience attributes and outlook providing an excellent opportunity of learning through interface. |
| Campus Disciplinary Rules |
| Besides, the norms mentioned in the foregoing paragraphs the following instructions should be abide by all students : |
| (a) |

| (b) |
Students are not permitted to ask for breaks during the lecture sessions. |

They may be periodically inspected by nominated staff members and Director. The Institute, however, cannot take responsibility for their personal behavior or misconduct at any time outside its premises. Students are expected to devote their time to build a corporate career by maintaining self-discipline. |
| Medical Fitness |
| The following medical requirements need to be met: |
| (a) |
All students should vaccinate themselves against common diseases like Hepatitis, Chicken pox and Typhoid prior to entering the college. |
| (b) |
Dengue and Malaria are common problems in Maharastra. Prevention is the only way to encounter these diseases; simple measures which need to be taken seriously are: |
| • |
Mosquito nets |
| • |
Mosquito repellants and Mats |
| These diseases are not contagious (spreading directly from one person to another) |
| (c) |
Certain diseases like diarrhoea do occur during the rainy seasons. Again prevention should be the aim. The hostel has 2 messes and a cafeteria which cater to the students. The hygiene aspect in these places are any time better than outside eating places. Hence, it would be the student's prerogative to choose where he/she wants to eat. |
| (d) |
It has been noticed in the past that some students have had serious medical problems in the past and have not revealed the same during admission. It is advisable that if anyone has any of these serious problems they should not take admission in our institute because the institute cannot take care of their medical problems. However, if anyone develops this kind of illness during the course, it should be brought to the notice of the institute doctor. |
The kinds of diseases are: - |
| • |
Epilepsy |
| • |
Gall-bladder/kidney Stones |
| • |
Heart Problems (Rheumatic/Valvular Heart Diseases) |
| • |
Asthma |
| • |
Old History of Tuberculosis |
| • |
Blood pressure |
| • |
Depression/Mood Disorders |
| • |
Severe jaundice in the past |
| (e) |
The college offers only O.P.D. Medical Facilities to the students at stipulated time daily. Student having medical problems should use this facility to the best. |
| (f) |
Any medical emergencies if and when arise are likely to be managed as in hospital basis (Hospitalization). Students in Medical distress are expected to take care of themselves supported by their roommates if they are non-hostilities. If brought to the notice of the institute, the institute will render all the assistance as required and possible but the hospitalization charges will have to be ultimately met by the students/parents. |
| (g) |
Students are not prevented from going to any Doctor/Hospital if they feel so. However, even in such cases, they should update the institute doctor for validation of the treatment offered and to prevent exploitation where necessary. |

We have not appointed any agent and we will not accept the recommendations of any one. Therefore, paying money to any agent who may claim and act as if they are very close to the management or any one closer to the management will be doing so at their risk. Such dangerous people exist, and we have reports from the past that many were cheated.
